My Hollow Head
04:14
|
|||
I think I'm headed west, but I haven't checked.
Pull my hollow head out of my empty neck.
Rid my fearful heart of its cobwebs.
It's all I need to see that God is in front of me.
Open up my chest, take a deep breath.
Why's this morning feel like a sunset?
Letting go of secrets that are unkept.
Three uneasy weeks, until you are in front of me.
That's exactly where you need to be.
Moving through this passing feeling.
Passing through this prison ceiling.
I don't think it's right to wait.
The time that we're apart are only moments
that I don't have to waste.
Why do we feel a live at our lowest?
And paint ourselves surprised like a portrait?
A mystery of life that I won't get.
It's all I need to see that answers are in front of me.
That God is in front of me.

I'm living off the land, but I'm eating out of cans.
I'm exactly where they want me to be.
We're paying just to breathe, and we close our eyes to see,
we're exactly where they want me to be.
I'm trying to live free but they're chasing after me.
I'm exactly where they want me to be.
And I can't help but to run, and I've never seen a gun.
But that don't mean I won't be shot down to my knees.
I'm exactly where they want me to be.
You might think that I'm crazy,
but the less that you know will be the best for you.
Forgetting how I came, but remembering we're the same.
It will help just to know that you're with me.
They're crossing off my name, and I gently float away.
It's just moments now 'til I will finally see
that I'm exactly where they want me to be.
You might think that I'm crazy,
but the less that you know will be the best for you.

When You Set Fire
04:33
|
|||
Oh, it's been to long, this road.
It takes its toll on me, but I must keep moving on.
Oh, it's not easy, you see.
I cannot be the train that keeps rolling on.
Oh, can't you see this water's too deep for me?
Oh, it's not easy to keep peace in my heart.
And I start to forget what's real.
Don't let my cold heart fool you. I must be true.
You keep me from falling down.
Oh, can't you see what my father has taught me?
When you set fire, I crawl in my hole.
You call me a liar, but it's all that I know.
Lord, I'm too tired. I must not be so cold.
Because your loving brings me home.
